As the EV revolution continues to expand in the automobile industry, more vehicle manufacturers have seen the potential benefits of electrified mobility and have continued to release all-electric or hybrid vehicles. BMW has come a long way in its efforts to join the EV market since the i3 hatchback was launched in 2014 as the German automaker’s first-ever EV. As BMW’s first electric SUV, the iX xDrive50 is expected to make a bold statement and the luxury vehicle does that effortlessly. BMW will also roll out a new addition to the iX family in 2023 called the M60, a high-performance variant. That model will produce up to 610 hp and come with a significantly higher starting price of $105,100.

BMW Is Making EV Charging Easier
BMW offers a new charging program called BMW Charging. This program caters to all BMW EVs by providing personalized home and public charging solutions. One of the things that make folks averse to EVs is the hassle of charging, especially for models that are compatible with a select few charging stations. Tesla’s network of Supercharger stations is part of the California-based automaker’s efforts to attract a wide range of buyers, especially those that frown on EVs. BMW’s program comprises a BMW Wallbox, two years of complimentary on-the-go charging with Electrify America, and a new Flexible Fast Charger.
With the BMW Wallbox, drivers can charge the iX XDrive50 with a Level 2 charger that can be installed in the garage for rapid charging whenever needed. The Wallbox enables the iX XDrive50 to be charged from 0 to 100 percent within 12 hours. The complimentary offer with Electrify America covers 30-minute charging sessions beginning on the day of vehicle purchase. The Flexible Fast Charger facilitates convenient EV charging and is compatible with any 120V or 240V outlet. With this medium, the EV can attain a full charge from 0 percent within 12 hours at a 240V outlet.
