The Mazda MX-30 Crossover is on the lower end for mileage on a single charge. It’s only ideal for urban drivers that don’t go far for work or outings.
The Mazda MX-30 electric vehicle doesn’t have as much range on a single charge as consumers would hope. Mazda’s first entry into the EV market was announced in Aug. 2021 and released that fall in California dealerships. Sales opened up to other states in 2022. People are already excited about the 2023 model because it’s expected to come with a rotary engine and improved range.
When someone is looking to buy an EV, how many miles the vehicle can go on a single charge is an essential factor. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many charging stations yet, and it takes longer to charge an electric car than to fill up a combustion engine with gas. Some of the longest-range vehicles are the Tesla Model Y Long Range coming in at 330 miles, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range at 358 miles and the Polestar 2 can go between 249 to 270 miles on a single charge.

The Mazda MX-30 Crossover is on the lower end for mileage. It can only go 100 miles on a single charge. Mazda says this vehicle is made for urban drivers who only drive about 30 miles daily. On the upside, it can recharge from 20 percent to 80 percent in only 36 minutes with a Level 3 DC Fast Charger. So, at least people won’t have to wait long for their vehicle to be ready to go. But for long trips, the car would not be suitable. For comparison, the 2022 Mini Cooper EV gets 110 miles on a single charge and takes 35 minutes to charge 80 percent. So, Mazda is not boasting too much.
What Drivers Get For Their Money
The Mazda MX-30’s starting price is $33,470. It comes with 143 hp and 200 lb-ft at 3,243 rpm torque. In addition, the lithium battery is 35.5kWh. It also comes with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The highlight of this vehicle is the luxury for the price. It’s a stylish-looking design with absolute comfort and elegance on the inside. The interior is made with cork, recycled threads and more sustainable materials.

It’s the perfect vehicle for someone that doesn’t have to drive that far for work or works from home and only needs it for city outings. They would only have to charge their car every few days, and it would be easy to charge it back up while getting ready for work in the morning. Unfortunately, those wanting to take road trips on the weekend will need another vehicle for those drives. An EV with only 100 miles on a single charge, like the Mazda MX-30, has its place, but it seems more sensible to buy an EV with more mileage to have more versatility.
