The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans still aren’t supporting Kyle Richards after she confessed to apologizing to Garcelle Beauvais.
Kyle Richards is still under fire among The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans who still don’t support her apology to Garcelle Beauvais. Kyle recently confessed that she and her husband, Mauricio Umansky, both offered “genuine” apologies to Garcelle after laughing at Erika Jayne’s verbal attack against Garcelle’s 14-year-old son Jax. The show revealed how funny Kyle, Dorit Kemsley, and their husbands found Erika’s drunken behavior at Garcelle’s birthday party. Erika lifted her leg while throwing herself at Garcelle’s eldest son Oliver, who is married, and ended the night by telling one of her teenage twin sons to “get the fu*k outta here.”
PK Kemsley praised Erika’s “double blowout” against Garcelle’s sons. Kyle said that it was “not funny, but funny,” while her husband thought it was “great.” The two couples faced backlash from viewers who felt like the four adults had cold reactions to the verbal abuse of a child. Kyle was also in hot water for her insensitive response to Sutton Stracke, who had revealed her past two miscarriages. Amid the backlash, Kyle posted a series of Instagram Story messages revealing the apology she gave to Sutton the day after the party.

It wasn’t until Kyle’s recent Amazon live stream that she revealed the apology she gave to Garcelle “immediately” after seeing the hard-to-watch scene. But after Jay’s Reality Blog posted a clip of Kyle’s confession on Twitter, fans were quick to call out the possible contradictions. “Public shaming requires a public apology,” one critic said, noting how Kyle chose to apologize to Garcelle in private instead of onscreen or on social media. Others noted Kyle’s initial interview after the preview clips revealed the mockery she and her husband made of the incident. At the time, Kyle was in London and blamed the time difference for why she hadn’t reached out to Garcelle. “She was the one who said she didn’t because of the time difference and was going to send a text,” one fan said along with a gif of the infamous Kandi Burruss “lies” moment.
Many felt like Kyle only apologized to Garcelle after facing public scrutiny. One fan noted the irony behind Kyle’s claim of contacting Garcelle “immediately” after watching the clip. “Immediately? Is she sure?… How long ago was it filmed and what’s the time between it airing and her apologizing?” the fan asked. “Because that doesn’t seem like “‘mmediately’ to me…” they quipped. Considering the timeline, the scene was filmed sometime late last year. Kyle had plenty of time to realize she was wrong for laughing about Erika cussing at Garcelle’s son. Yet, it took the show airing on national television for Kyle to realize how disturbing her behavior was.

It didn’t take Kyle that long to apologize to Sutton. She knew instantly after she sobered up that she was completely wrong for questioning Sutton’s sensitive reveal. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans think they’re starting to see Kyle’s true colors. All the damage control Kyle has been having to do is a first for the OG housewife. She’s made it 12 seasons without being the show’s reigning villain. The only upside is that there are too many cast members for fans to hate for Kyle to be singled out as the lead villain. But she’s certainly on the list of housewives fans are calling to either be demoted or removed.
