Gabby Windey and Rachel Racchia’s Bachelorette season 19 just got started and Bachelor Nation is already tweeting up a storm about everything.
Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s The Bachelorette season 19 premiered Monday of last week, and it’s time to look at all the Bachelor Nation buzz on Twitter. A lot was going on in episode 1, to say the least. Outlets reported that ABC was making up the rules as it went along but watching it in real-time is a whole other thing. The network decided on casting two Bachelorette’s, Gabby and Rachel, for a dual season at the last minute.
The decision is bound to cause drama as producers afforded no extra time to the season. It also seemed like a last-ditch effort to boost views after Joe Millionaire‘s dual lead season became a threat. Bachelor Nation alums and fans are already reacting to the ladies’ mutual affection, charisma, and the unraveling drama on Twitter. However, many Bachelor Nation cast members were disappointed by all the hate pointed at Clayton Echard, who the ladies competed for on The Bachelor last season. Meanwhile, fans gloried in Rachel and Gabby’s no-nonsense approach to the men.

Coming off such a tumultuous Bachelor season and straight into The Bachelorette isn’t easy. Hopefully, having each other will make the season easier for Rachel and Gabby. However, if the promos are any indication, the dual leads are in store for twice the complications of a usual season.
Bachelor Nation Cast Tweets
Many cast members from Bachelor Nation went to bat for Clayton. While the negative feedback may seem inevitable to fans watching The Bachelorette, former cast members were more sympathetic. They know what it’s like to be manipulated by producers and thrown into the limelight. They also were utterly enthralled with Gabby and Rachel, pointing out that each is perfectly capable of holding up their own season and navigating The Bachelorette season 19 men. Joe Amabile also gets major props for his Bachelorette live tweeting. Joe is a franchise staple, and his humor shines on and off the screen. Ivan Hall and many fans also came out swinging with jokes about Gabby’s not-so-subtle faces, saying she’s just not that into some of the men. However, fans came just as hard for the season 19 men for being overconfident and over-sharing about their sex lives and affection for their mothers. They also applauded Gabby for saying “boys are dumb” and both ladies for not taking anything too seriously out the gate.
Bachelor Nation Fan Tweets
Fans of Bachelor Nation were a little more cynical when it came to The Bachelorette season 19 premiere. They echoed the alum’s amusement at Gabby’s unimpressed face when it came to the unimpressive bachelor’s. However, they did not echo the sympathy for Clayton. Fans who haven’t been on the other side of the screen have a harder time empathizing with Clayton’s poor handling of his season of The Bachelor. At the same time, they weren’t afraid to roast The Bachelorette season 19 men just as hard. Men come into Bachelor Nation extremely confident, but as the weeks drag on, that confidence can fade.
Fans also couldn’t help but notice how the rhetoric went above and beyond to make Gabby and Rachel seem like they had all the control. While a narrative of empowerment is ideal after Gabby and Rachel were pitted against each other, fans could tell the promise of agency was hollow. Without any clear plan of action, Gabby and Rachel will inevitably be competing for the same men, and as the men need to pick a lane, things will grow more and more complicated. This recipe for disaster might end with Gabby and Rachel following Rachel Lindsay, Matt James, and Tayshia Adams’ footsteps, choosing to distance themselves from The Bachelorette after their emotional turmoil is used to generate millions of dollars.
