Deckhands on the Below Deck franchise have one of the hardest jobs in the industry but these yachties remain a fan-favorite due to their personalites.
The exterior crew members of the Below Deck franchise play a big role in keeping the charter guests happy while maintaining the safety of the boat; there are a few deckhands who remain fan favorites. A deckhand, who answers directly to the bosun, such as Below Deck alum Eddie Lucas, has many jobs and arguably has the most physical role on a superyacht. From setting up the water toys to keeping the chrome shiny, the deck team is on their feet all day with hardly any rest.
While the stews on board are the ones that cater to the guest’s needs, deckhands often have to entertain the charter guests while they’re enjoying the exterior. They also have to make sure the hot tubs are clean and ready to use. In Below Deck Down Under, a charter guest drank a bit too much and threw up in the hot tub, and deckhand Benny Crawley had to clean it up, much to his dismay.
Below Deck has had some pretty horrible deckhands that fans want to forget. Eddie has shared that Below Deck season 3’s Dane Jackson was one of the worst people he’s ever worked with. During a crew night out, Dane drank too much and got belligerent. Eddie had to escort him home, and soon afterward, Captain Lee Rosbach fired him. However, there are many great deckhands in the Below Deck franchise that fans would love to see back on the show.
Connie Arias Below Deck Season 3
Connie Arias was the first female deckhand to join the Below Deck crew and quickly earned the respect of her male counterparts. She was not only competent and hard-working, but she also provided much-needed comic relief for the boat. Connie was comfortable in her own skin and loved being naked, even walking around with nothing but whipped cream on her body. The much-loved deckhand has not returned to Below Deck since season 3, but Captain Lee would no doubt welcome her back anytime.
Wes O’Dell Below Deck Season 9
Below Deck season 9’s deckhand Wes O’Dell quickly became a fan favorite due to his affable nature and ability to stay out of the drama. Wes had his eye on third stew Jessica Albert and fans were rooting for their possible romance. Unfortunately, Jessica decided the yacht life was not for her and quit mid-season. Wes was also a great sounding board for his fellow deckhand Rayna Lindsey after she heard chief stew Heather Chase repeat a racial slur. Fans appreciated how calm he stayed even after Rayna went off on him.
Jake Foulger Below Deck Season 9
Jake Foulger made a splash in Below Deck season 9 with his mustache and flirtatious nature. He and Rayna shared a drunken makeout session only to later reveal that he was engaged. He explained that he and his fiancé were only together because she needed a green card. Jake also shared a kiss with second stew Fraser Olender, and although the deckhand claimed he was straight, fans loved how sexually free he was and didn’t see anything wrong with two men sharing an innocent kiss.

Mzi Dempers Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7
Mzi is one of the most loveable Below Deck Mediterranean deckhands, and fans will be glad to see him back for the upcoming season 7. Below Deck Med fans loved Mzi’s story about being adopted at three years old and looking up to his two brothers, who are also in the yachting industry. Viewers also loved watching him flirt with third stew Courtney Veale as she called him “Daddy” and twerked with him. Some of Mzi’s funniest moments in Below Deck Med season 7 were of him falling while he was drunk, which made him one of the most memorable deckhands of the Below Deck franchise.
