Ameerah Jones talks about her Big Brother 24 blindside and the Leftovers alliance. She also comments on the house’s treatment of Taylor Hale.
Ameerah Jones became the latest casualty of a Big Brother season 24 blindside, and she admitted that the Leftovers alliance shocked her. During Thursday’s live eviction episode, Ameerah was put up as a nominee on Big Brother to be evicted alongside Terrance Higgins, her “Festie Bestie,” a twist that split the 14 houseguests into teams of two. Matthew “Turner” Turner was the week’s HOH, meaning he had to nominate two houseguests for eviction. Turner, along with six other houseguests, set up a plan to nominate Ameerah and Terrance in an instant Big Brother classic blindside to send Ameerah home.
Big Brother 24 has been riddled with controversy since it first premiered. Numerous houseguests were accused of bullying and ostracizing Taylor Hale for no real reason. Things came to a head in Wednesday’s episode when Daniel Durston and Nicole Layog blew up on Taylor after she offered support when Nicole was emotional, telling her it was okay to prioritize her well-being over the game. This treatment caused Big Brother contestants Turner, Kyle Capener, Monte Taylor and Joseph Abdin to form an alliance called The Leftovers, bringing Taylor, Michael and Brittany to join them. Turner gave a powerful speech at the Veto ceremony, urging the bullies in the house to leave Taylor alone. Ameerah was evicted by a 7-4 vote during Thursday’s live eviction.

In an interview with Us Weekly after her eviction, Ameerah said the Leftovers alliance “shocked” her. Although she admitted that she knew “something was going on,” she said she couldn’t “put the pieces together” of any big alliance. She further explained, “It kept me up all night trying to figure out who was working with Turner and who was trying to get me out.” Ameerah said she felt most betrayed on Big Brother by Monte because she “trusted” him and said they “made a final two deal the first week.”
Ameerah also commented on the house’s poor treatment of Taylor. While Daniel and Nicole were the biggest culprits of bullying Taylor, Ameerah did play a big part in making her feel like an outcast. In response, Ameerah claims that she “defended her” when Daniel blew up on Taylor and talked to him about it. She reiterated multiple times that Taylor was targeted by the girls because she was “talking to the guys” during the first few days but admitted they never really gave her a chance. Ameerah said she “regrets not standing up for Taylor sooner.”

In less than a week, the Leftovers have changed the game on Big Brother 24. Taylor is no longer the house punching bag, and Daniel and Nicole are on the outs. Hopefully, Ameerah can reflect on her time in the Big Brother house and learn from her mistakes, notably ostracizing Taylor. Daniel and Nicole are the two least-liked players left on Big Brother, so fans are hoping for the Leftovers to take them out soon. While Ameerah was shocked to leave the Big Brother house so early, some of her friends will likely follow her soon.
