Apple has started rolling out iOS 15.6 to all compatible devices with one notable new feature and a number of bug fixes. The roll out comes about two months after the company released iOS 15.5 with new features like Universal Control, a new setting in Apple Podcasts to limit the number of stored episodes, and external payment options inside third-party ‘reader apps,’ such as Netflix, Spotify, Kindle, Audible, etc. Apart from these, the iOS 15.5 stable release also included multiple bug fixes for glitches with home automation and unexpected shutdowns of the iPhone SE (3rd Gen).
Apple has also been working on iOS 16, which was announced at the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June and is expected to be rolled out later this year. The company released the first public beta of iOS 16 earlier this month, enabling users to try out all the new features of the operating system ahead of its public release. iOS 16 comes with a slew of new features, including a customizable lock screen, the ability to edit and unsend messages, an Automatic Verification system that promises to get rid of captchas for good, and a background removal tool for images in Visual Lookup.

Apple has released the final stable build of iOS 15.6, bringing a few minor improvements and bug fixes. The only new listed feature in the latest iOS build is an option in the Apple TV app to restart a live sports game. According to Apple’s official changelog, the new feature will let users pause, rewind, or fast-forward a live event that’s already in progress.
Bug Fixes In Settings, Mail, And Safari
The incoming update also fixes a number of bugs and other issues for a smoother overall experience. First off, the new release brings a fix for a Settings issue that shows the device storage to be full even if storage space is still available. iOS 15.6 also fixes an issue that sometimes causes Braille devices to slow down or stop responding when navigating text in the Mail app. The final major fix in the new software is for a Safari issue where a tab may revert to a previous page without any interaction on the part of the user.

Apart from iOS 15.6, Apple is also updating its other operating systems with the roll out of iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5, watchOS 8.7, and tvOS 15.6. Like iOS 15.6, the corresponding iPadOS update also brings all the same features and bug fixes, but also includes an additional bug fix for the iPad mini (6th generation). According to Apple, the incoming update fixes an issue that could sometimes prevent the device from detecting a charger or other USB-C accessories. iPhone users can go to Settings, tap General and then Software Update to download and install iOS 15.6.
