Exclusive unboxing of the all-electric Lexus LFA successor

The Lexus LFA is one of the most beloved supercars ever made, especially for the sound of its V10 engine.

But now, there’s an all-new electric successor in the works, and it looks like it’s going to be just as amazing.

Supercar Blondie’s Alex Hirschi unboxed it this week ahead of its official unveiling at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Check out Alex’s unboxing video below!

The concept has been referred to as the Electrified Sport, although there’s no official name for the production version yet.

It was first shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but was stuck on display in a glass box.

A teaser video from Lexus showed it being put into a wooden shipping crate afterwards.

That’s the same shipping crate that Alex got to unload with a forklift in California, before pulling it apart to take a closer look.

The inspiration from the original Lexus LFA is clear.

The two share similar headlights and grilles below them.

There are still two vents in the hood as well, although this time they’re larger and further forward.

It rides on staggered wheels (20-inch up front, 21-inch in the rear) to give it a purposeful look as well.

However, at the back it slopes down more than the LFA did, which is higher and boxier at the back.

Of course, this is because the Lexus LFA successor will be fully electric, so aerodynamics are especially important.

There are rumors the electrified LFA could make up to 800hp, which is a huge jump from the 550hp the original LFA made.

It will also go from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in the “low two-second range.”

It could also have range of nearly 700km (435miles).

Alex Hirschi described the original LFA as “one of the best sounding cars, in my opinion, in the world” and lamented how the new EV would sound.

There’s a chance it might also feature a shiftable transmission.

Rumor has it that Lexus is working on simulating gear changes using software to make it feel more engaging to drive.

Currently, this concept doesn’t have an interior, so we can only imagine what that will look like.

We’re hoping it features the clever sliding gauges and thin indicator stalks of the original LFA.

When will the Lexus LFA successor be released?

Currently, there’s no official release date for the LFA’s successor.

After all, it doesn’t even have an official name yet.

All we do know is it should be here by 2030 at the latest.
