Days before the OnePlus 10 T’s global launch, the company revealed some of its key tech specs and explained a baffling design choice.
Days before the OnePlus 10T‘s global launch, the company revealed several tidbits about the phone, including some of its key tech specs. Last week, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced that the company’s next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 10T, will launch on Aug. 3 in New York City. It would be the company’s first in-person launch event since the beginning of the pandemic nearly two and a half years ago.
The OnePlus 10T would also mark OnePlus’ return to the end-of-the-year T-series refreshes that started with the OnePlus 3T in 2016 before seemingly ending with the OnePlus 8T in 2020. The new smartphone would be a follow-up to the OnePlus 10 Pro that was launched earlier this year. The company hasn’t revealed a lot about the upcoming device officially, but a slew of leaks have seemingly shown some of its critical tech specs.

OnePlus has released official renders of its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 10T, revealing its exterior design from both the front and back. The company also announced some of the key specifications and design features of the new device. Talking to The Verge in an email interview, OnePlus’s chief designer Hope Liu confirmed that the OnePlus 10T would feature a 6.7-inch display. He did not confirm the resolution, refresh rate, or even the screen technology, but earlier leaks suggested that it might be an AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Liu also confirmed that the 10T would sport a 50-megapixel primary camera (Sony IMX766 sensor) as opposed to the 48-megapixel unit on the OnePlus 10 Pro. It will also reportedly support 10-bit color and offer “improved HDR photography.” The camera will also come with OnePlus’ night photography mode.
OnePlus 10T Won’t Have The Alert Slider
Liu also confirmed another rumor that is sure to disappoint many OnePlus users. According to him, the device won’t have the ‘Alert Slider’ that had become a trademark feature for flagship OnePlus phones over the years. Liu also said that the OnePlus 10T would include two charging pumps instead of just one on the 10 Pro. The device would also come with 15 separate antennas that Liu claimed would improve signal when holding the phone horizontally for playing games, etc. Liu also confirmed that the device will be offered in at least two color options, including matte black and glossy green.

While OnePlus is yet to confirm anything else about the OnePlus 10T, a slew of leaks have revealed some of its other technical aspects. That includes a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a 4,800mAh battery with support for 150W fast charging. The device is also rumored to be launched in three RAM and storage options, including 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB. As for the processor, OnePlus had earlier confirmed that the OnePlus 10T would be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which comes with several small but important upgrades over the older chipset.
