Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 10, and the brand is expected to announce several new devices.
Samsung has officially announced its Galaxy Unpacked August 2022 event, its second major product event of the year, but which devices are expected to launch? The brand has provided some pretty strong hints from the official invite image, and the various rumors and leaks have all but confirmed what users can expect to see.
At the Galaxy Unpacked event in August 2021, the company launched Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Buds 2. More recently, in February 2022, Samsung released its Galaxy S22 trio of flagship smartphones and the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets. With the Galaxy Note lineup officially dead and the Galaxy S22 FE seemingly scrapped, it looks like foldables will be the focus of the upcoming event. On the Galaxy events page, Samsung asks users to “Get ready to unfold your world of greater experiences.”

After months of rumors, Samsung has finally confirmed that a Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 10, 2022 at 9 a.m. ET. It will be the second Galaxy Unpacked event held this year, and the brand will reveal its next generation of foldable smartphones – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. While the Galaxy Fold 4 is said to arrive with a better camera system, the Galaxy Flip 4 could ship with an improved battery. In addition, both smartphones are likely to feature Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Galaxy Watch 5 And Buds 2 Pro Likely
Alongside the new foldable devices, Samsung is also likely to unveil the Galaxy Watch 5 lineup at the Unpacked event. This year, the Galaxy Watch 5 will reportedly come in two variants – the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Although the smartwatch lineup could use the same Exynos W920 chipset seen on the Galaxy Watch 4, it is expected to feature a larger battery. The price will reportedly begin at €300 for the Galaxy Watch 5 (40mm) with Bluetooth. The most expensive smartwatch from the series could be the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (45mm) with LTE connectivity, which could cost €540.

There is a good chance that Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at the Galaxy Unpacked event as well. Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds Pro in January 2021 and the Galaxy Buds 2 in August of the same year. According to tipster @SnoopyTech, the earbuds will come in three colors – Zenith White, Zenith Bora Purple, and Zenith Graphite. Plus, Samsung is already letting users reserve a new Galaxy smartphone, Galaxy Watch, and Galaxy Buds for up to $200 in Samsung credits on its official website, confirming that we’ll see new entrants in all three categories.
