Snapchat+ brings several exclusive features to paying subscribers, including a special badge that can be placed next to their display name.
To distinguish regular users from paying users, Snapchat+ provides a badge that appears beside the display name. The badge is basically a star within a solid greyish-black circle. However, new subscribers might not know how to enable the Snapchat+ profile badge. Other than the profile badge, paying users of the app also get additional exclusive features like Ghost Trails to see their friends’ location for the last 24 hours, the ability to pin a BFF, and a Rewatch Indicator for Stories for $3.99 a month.
Snapchat has been trying to come up with new sources of revenue for quite some time now. Initially, the photo and video sharing platform displayed ads in between Snapchat Stories. Earlier this year, the platform announced it would share ad revenue with Snap Stars, displaying mid-roll advertisements in Stories created by verified users. Snap Inc. also launched the Snapchat Pixy Drone, a rather unique gadget for Snapchat lovers.

The Snapchat+ Badge is easy to enable once a subscription has been purchased. It turns out that even after subscribing, users don’t get the Snapchat+ badge as it is disabled by default. To display the badge, users need to head over to their profile, tap on their Snapchat+ membership card at the top, and then turn on the toggle next to ‘Snapchat+ Badge.’ Upon doing so, the Snapchat+ Badge will appear on the user’s profile, and will be visible to both paying and non-paying users. Being a premium feature, the Snapchat+ Badge will be available only as long as users have an active subscription.
You Need A Snapchat+ Subscription First
If users have not subscribed to Snapchat+, they can follow these steps to become a subscriber. Tap on the Bitmoji at the top left corner of the home screen and locate the Snapchat+ banner. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the seven-day free trial. However, users should note that once the trial period is over, it will cost $3.99 per month to use the service. Users can access all the Snapchat+ features when they enter the trial period, including the profile badge.

Unfortunately, regular users won’t be able to add a badge to their profiles. Hence, if someone wants the star badge to appear next to their display name, paying Snapchat is the only way. Since Snapchat+ is available only in select countries, such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, users elsewhere cannot access the service, keeping the Snapchat+ badge out of reach for many people at the moment.
