Following Bretman is back, and Bretman and Princess Mae are ready to unpack all their feelings to get on the same page and show each other love.
Bretman Rock is back for MTV’s Following Bretman season 2, but this time, Bretman and Princess Mae are getting deeper into their relationship. Bretman and Princess hinted at a love-hate relationship in season 1, but there was a lot of other ground to cover in the beginning. Following Bretman’s debut season highlighted Bretman’s upbringing, their bonds with their mother and father, their cousin and personal assistant Kieffer, aka Miss Kay, and their best friend, Larry.
Season 1 introduced Bretman as a loveable and loving diva and an entourage as endearing and confidant as they are. It also allowed for space for Bretman and Princess to process their parents’ pasts and futures. When their mom got more serious about returning to the Philippines full-time, a lot of family history resurfaced. Bretman spent their early years in the Philippines with their father. Meanwhile, their mother moved to Hawaii with Princess, and their older brother JR. Bretman cherishes their appreciation of nature from growing up with their father and their father’s early recognition and support of Bretman’s sexuality. However, after witnessing their fathers’ repeated infidelity, Bretman testified in court to move to Hawaii with their mom.
With the weight of unpacking their upbringing acknowledged, Following Bretman season 2 makes space to address Princess and Bretman’s current relationship. Bretman admitted, “My relationship with my sister has fractured a little bit.” Bretman credits Princess for their YouTube channel’s success but feels Princess hasn’t capitalized on the momentum. During a therapy session, Bretman said, “I’m not about to say I’m proud of you just for the cameras.” Mutual affection is a tough topic for Bretman and Princess as they note their mom never verbally said, “I love you.” Instead, they like to tease one another, which is their love language. Princess shared, “The only thing that I really need is your support.” Bretman argued that he was pushing Princess to continue with their YouTube videos and pursue her singing career. For Princess, it’s easier said than done.
Princess also pointed out that she has “two kids” and is “double-booked.” Kourtney Kardashian might find this dilemma familiar. Princess may not be moving as fast as Bretman might like, but she recently purchased her own beachfront home, is a mom, and supports their oldest brother JR’s food truck business. While adorning Princesses’ new house with plants, Bretman said, “Giving people gifts just fills my void inside, and I have a lot of voids.” Bretman is all in on supporting his family but admitted in their interview that they’re burnt out. Constantly hustling and building an empire isn’t for the faint of heart. However, neither is being a single mom of two. The plotline for Following Bretman season 2 seems centered on whether Bretman and Princess can break down their barriers and get on the same page. Princess said, “I hope he wants to help me as much as he can even though he’s really busy.”

In Following Bretman season 2, episode 2, Bretman was also tasked with taking care of Princess’s kids, Cleo and Ezekial. As they caught whiplash keeping track of the two kids under five, Bretman admitted they’d gained respect for Princess and their mom. From tackling car seat installation to doing CPR to the Bee Gee’s “Staying Alive,” it’s just the beginning of Following Bretman season 2. Plus, the heart, the glam, and the laughs are back and better than ever.
