The Nothing Phone (1) features a big battery with support for both fast wired and wireless charging, but does it ship with a charger in the box?
The Nothing Phone (1) has a large battery that charges reasonably fast, but does the smartphone come with a charger in the box? Several phone manufacturers have removed the power adapter from the accessories included in the retail box of their products, and this trend is no longer limited to just flagships. OnePlus is among the only major phone brands that still bundles a charger with its phones.
Samsung doesn’t include a charger in the box of a lot of its mid-range smartphones including the Galaxy A13 5G, its cheapest 5G smartphone. Google also no longer ships the Pixel flagship smartphones with a charger, and that trend has also been extended to the Pixel A series as there is no charger in the box of the Pixel 6a.

The Nothing Phone (1) has a 4,500mAh battery to power its 6.5-inch 120Hz OLED display and Snapdragon 778G+ processor. With support for 33W fast wired charging, Nothing says the phone should fully charge in a little over an hour – 70 minutes to be precise. There’s also support for 15W wireless charging, but this takes the total charging time up to 120 minutes. Unfortunately, users will have to buy their own charger whether they choose wired or wireless charging, since the Nothing Phone (1) doesn’t come with a charger in the box. Save for the phone, the only other accessory in the box is a USB-C cable.
Nothing Also Sells A 45W Power Adapter
Like other brands that have opted to not include a charger in the box, Nothing sells its own power adapter. Called the Nothing Power (45W), the adapter is a 45W USB-C power brick that supports Power Delivery (PD) 3.0. When connected to the Phone (1) the battery can go from 0 to 65 percent in 30 minutes. In addition, users can also use it to charge other devices that support PD 3.0, Quick Charge 4+, Quick Charge 3, Quick Charge 2, and PPS.
The Nothing Power (45W) is priced at £35 ($41) in the UK which might be on the high side for some considering there are other chargers that cost less. Nevertheless, for those not planning to purchase Nothing’s own charger, the manufacturer recommends owners only use a Quick Charge 4-compatible power adapter to charge the Nothing Phone (1). Those who prefer wireless charging can opt for a Qi wireless charger instead.

Apart from a charger, Nothing also sells a transparent case and a screen protector for its smartphone. The case costs £25 ($28) while the screen protector retails for £19 ($22). Both of these accessories are a bit on the high side in terms of price and it is only a matter of time before the market is flooded with third-party options that are not only cheaper but come in different styles, at least for the case. Plus, the Nothing Phone (1) comes with a screen protector pre-applied, so users may not need to buy one.
