Google Assistant can do many things and it is quite good at answering questions. It can even answer questions it shouldn’t know the answer to yet.
Google Assistant has the (sort of) power to answer your questions and provide insight into the future. This isn’t a new ability of Google Assistant, but it is one of many features that users might not be aware of. Google Assistant’s Crystal Ball is easy to use and can be a good way to pass the time, so long as you don’t take the answers too seriously.
Google Assistant is available on a wide variety of devices and, when it isn’t reaching into the universe to find answers to the future, it can actually be quite useful. Not only can the virtual assistant be used to source answers to more general questions from Google Search, but it can also provide information on the weather, traffic, and nearby locations. It can even be used to control a variety of compatible smart home products.

Google Assistant also has a Crystal Ball feature which can be used to get answers to almost any question. The process is simple enough, just activate Google Assistant and then say “Crystal Ball” or “Play Crystal Ball.” The Assistant will then play some mystical sounds before telling the user to ‘think of a question.’ After thinking of one (or saying it out loud), Google Assistant will take a few moments to consult its crystal ball before providing an answer.
Don’t Actually Expect Google To Tell You The Future
To be clear, Google Assistant’s Crystal Ball is meant to be for fun and is only one of many games available to play through the virtual assistant. Even if it was meant to be serious, Google Assistant is not exactly great at providing specifics. For starters, it is only able to answer with very vague responses and requires the user to ask a yes/no question. Not to mention, the range of answers it can provide are very limited. In most cases, users will hear either an “Affirmative” or “Why Not” response. Neither of which are very telling. More to the point, once the user gets their answer, Google Assistant will follow up with quite the lengthy disclaimer explaining how it can’t actually tell the future.

Although the Google Assistant is unable to provide real answers to any of those burning questions about what the future holds, Crystal Ball is a fun feature to play alone or with others. As it is available at the virtual assistant level, Google Assistant can (sort of) tell you the future on smartphones, smart speakers, TVs, smartwatches, and any other device that comes equipped with the virtual helper.
