The Snapchat+ subscription service brings a number of exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features for Snapchat users. Here’s how to subscribe.
The Snapchat+ subscription service brings a number of exclusive features for Snapchat users, and it can be easily subscribed to from the app. Launched in late June, Snapchat+ costs $3.99 per month and offers the ability to change the app icon, see who re-watched a story, pin a friend to the top of the chat history as a ‘BFF,’ see the location history of friends in the past 24 hours, among other things. The service is available in only a handful of countries to start with, but the company says it plans to expand it to more markets in the future.
Snapchat originally debuted as an ephemeral messaging app in 2011 before reinventing itself as a full-fledged social media platform with a huge fan following among young users. With the new subscription service, the company hopes that it will be able to monetize the ardent following it already has among its user base. It would also help the company diversify its revenue source that is currently almost entirely dependent on ads. While Snapchat also has a fledgling hardware business that includes the Spactacles smart glasses and the Pixy drone, they make a negligible contribution to the company’s bottom line for the most part.

To subscribe to Snapchat+, head over to the Profile page on the app and tap on the Snapchat+ banner card at the top. Now simply choose the subscription option to start a seven-day free trial. This will give users an option to try out the service and see if the features on offer are worth the monthly expense. After the trial is over, users will be charged $3.99 per month to continue with Snapchat+. Users can also cancel their subscription at any time they want.
Snapchat+ Card Not Showing On The Profile Page?
For users who can’t see the Snapchat+ card on their Profile page, dismiss the other banner cards first. If it still doesn’t show up, update the app to the latest version from the Play Store or the App Store and try again. The subscription is available on both Android and iOS, and the method described above works on both platforms.

Snapchat is one of the largest social media platforms in the world with over 332 million active users, and the vast majority of them will likely be perfectly happy with the free version of the app. However, the ones who do choose to subscribe to Snapchat+ will not only have access to exclusive premium features that will never make it to the free version, but will also get priority support and other goodies that might make it a worthwhile option for some power users.
