The Real Housewives cast members love any excuse to dress up in the latest designer fashions. Some housewives become known for their enviable style.
Fans watch The Real Housewives franchise mainly for the drama, but many also love seeing what fabulous outfits the cast members come up with. When The Real Housewives of Orange County premiered in 2006, the housewives were much more laid back with their style. While they always looked chic and pulled-together, their everyday look was usually jeans and a nice blouse.
Reunion looks were also more casual during the first years of Real Housewives. During The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 1 reunion, Shereé Whitfield wore a sweater dress, while NeNe Leakes donned a cowl-necked purple shirt with black tights. Fast forward to RHOA season 10 and the housewives were dressed in shimmery floor-length gowns.

Over the years, the housewives started using stylists to put together their looks. It soon became normal for the women to hire hair stylists and makeup artists for cast trips, which the housewives have to pay for out of pocket. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne introduced the term “glam squad” and famously confessed that she spent $40k a month on them. With the pressure on to bring their fashion game, some Real Housewives stars became known as fashion icons.
Dorit Kemsley RHOBH
Dorit Kemsley’s style was pretty simple and laid back when she joined RHOBH in season 7. However, over the years she developed her own style, with carefully curated head-to-toe looks. Although some fans have criticized Dorit’s fashion sense as outlandish at times, many can’t argue that she always knows how to make an entrance. Some of her best looks were Versace, but fans can’t forget her RHOBH season 7 finale’s gold caped gown with gold leaf painted into her hair.
Kelly Dodd RHOC
While Kelly Dodd may not have been a fan favorite of The Real Housewives of Orange County, many can’t deny she had great taste. Kelly tended to wear mostly neutrals and loved to accessorize her outfit with a fedora. However, her one major fashion faux pas was her Drunk Wives Matter baseball cap, which got her into trouble with Bravo. One of Kelly’s best fashion moments was her RHOC season 15 reunion look, where she donned a navy blue, sequined cocktail dress with her hair flowing elegantly over one shoulder. Unfortunately, that would be her last reunion look as she was fired from the franchise due to her controversial nature.
Tinsley Mortimer RHONY
Tinsley Mortimer was never one to shy away from ruffles and lace during her stint on The Real Housewives of New York City. As a young socialite, Tinsley was often photographed in her trendy outfits and became a style icon. When she joined RHONY in season 9, her clothes as a 40-something woman were more sophisticated, but they still had a playful quality. Tinsley tended to wear feminine pieces with polka dots, bows, and perhaps a tulle skirt. Her RHONY season 11 dark purple gown, designed by Christian Siriano, was one of her best looks, and she later revealed that it had been measured just for her.

Melissa Gorga RHONJ
It’s no wonder Melissa Gorga has one of the best wardrobes in The Real Housewives of New Jersey as she is the owner of her hip clothing boutique, Envy. Melissa loves to change up her look and can be seen in anything from a sparkly catsuit to a body-hugging neon-green dress. While Melissa doesn’t flaunt designer labels like RHOBH’s Dorit, her tastes are more simple, and she usually prefers solids to prints. Melissa Gorga revealed in the past that she created Envy after fans kept asking her where she bought her clothes. With her elegant style, it’s no wonder The Real Housewives fans covet her closet.
