Ever since Big Brother season 15 aired in the summer of 2013, the competition ran for at least 90 days (excluding Big Brother: OTT, BB22, and BB23). Big Brother season 24 will be one of the shortest seasons the show has had in a number of years. While some fans are okay with this change, others are debating whether or not a short season was the right decision.

According to Distractify, Big Brother 24 will only be 82 days long, making it the shortest season since BB14, which aired a decade ago. The show premiered on July 6 and is expected to end on Sunday, September 25. Not only are fans getting a shorter Big Brother season, but this also marks the first time the finale will air on a Sunday, as previous finales have aired on Wednesdays. However, many fans are not angry about this shortened season of the show; they are mostly surprised.
When talking about the shorter seasons, Reddit user ShawshankException said, “Good. We don’t need long drawn out seasons. Just please make the double/triple actually exciting if they’re going to do it.” While many fans love that BB24 is only going to be 82 days long, some believe that an even shorter season would be better. Some fans are arguing that a season that is 75-77 days long would be even better, especially considering the last two weeks in the game are the hardest for the houseguests. Nonetheless, no one knows if Big Brother producers will listen and begin filming shorter seasons from here on out, only time will tell.
